Charlotte, NC 2004 SDC International Meet

I apologize for the random arrangement of these pictures... I should be mowing the lawn, don't have time to organize much!

THE man, Mr. Ted Harbit!  Retired school teacher, Studebaker drag racer, and generally person of the highest caliber.

I'm still smiling.  Thanks, Gary!  (Gary Ash... this truck was finished just in time for the Charlotte meet.  To put it on the drag strip took guts!

Look at that thing GO!

Our man Snurd in the left lane... he throws a mean 1-2 shift! (Snurd has since passed away.  Rest in peace, Snurd, and thanks for being a friend to all of us!)

This is how I spent my week.  When all of this was going on, it was trouble.  Now, it's an adventure!

I asked Jerry to snap a pic of the races between Jeff and I.  He didn't hear that, but when he brought the camera back to me, he took these of 'Sheba "yawning" at both ends, as StudeBob would say.

I saw his tail lights on the road, he saw mine on the track.  <G>  Does anyone have a shot of the race I was ahead in?  Don't need shots of the other one.  <G>

That SOB is NICE!

These pictures were taken at a rest break on the way to the race track.

Snurd's ride

'Sheba... or, is it?  The hood is down!

Dang, that thing is cute.

Quite a caravan.

The Stude Tomato.  (Ted's "other" drag racing ride.)

Needs no introduction.

Stella.  She found a new home while at the track.  :-(

Joe's Taxi Service

As I followed this beauty down the Interstate, I was reminded that this model was the first Stude I fell in love with, but couldn't afford at the time.  Too bad there are no nice GT's.

Sorry, don't know who owns this one.

Rick's beauty.

On the return trip home, I remembered I had promised What's Her Face that I would take some scenery pictures.

These clouds reminded me that I needed to do that.  I just emailed these three pictures to her.  Bet she's all aglow.  Maybe I should run to the house.

As seen through the window of a Stude.  LIFE IS GOOD!

Thanks to all of my wonderful friends that helped me along the way, and to those that made the meet such a special experience.  We had fun, didn't we?!
